On March 28, my world was turned upside down by an unexpected health crisis. What started as a gastral illness left me in pain and discomfort and caused me to lose 60 pounds. But even in the middle of the hardest nights, I made a decision: I would keep praising God.
And in that place of weakness, a song began to rise in my heart; Good Good Father.
This song isn’t simply about God being good when He “comes through” (though He absolutely does). It’s about the deeper truth: God is good no matter the outcome. He is faithful. He is just. His goodness is unshaken by my circumstances, and His love remains constant in every season.
The song opens with these words:
“I’ve walked through nights of pain and silence,
Shadows tried to steal my song.
But You keep whispering Your promise
This broken world is not my home.
I know who You are, what You’ve already done;
The prize You won is greater than this life I’m living on.”
What Jesus did on the cross surpasses anything else this life can offer. You can’t put a price on the eternal gift He gave us. And yet, even beyond the cross, He still provides, heals, loves, redeems, restores, offers grace and mercy, protects, comforts, guides, strengthens, and never leaves our side. Truly, He is a Good Good Father.
“For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves.” — Colossians 1:13
My prayer is that when you hear this song, no matter what you’re facing, your heart will be filled with unshakable joy, because God is a Good Good Father. Always.
